God's way

Ps 27:4: "One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in His temple."

A joyous blah

I'm getting married in 2 months!!! Things have been so crazy with all the preps and all the anticipation! But I am so thankful for my dear friends and family who have shown their love to us in so many ways: from sacrificing their time to help us with what we need to get done to sending their loving thoughts and sharing God's words of wisdom and love with us!

I just wanted to write down some of the verses these wonderful people have shared.

Prov 18:22: "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD."

Prov 8:35: "For whoever finds me [Wisdom] finds life and obtains favor from the LORD,"

Psalm 127:1-2: "Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep."

Prov 24:3-4: "By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches."

Gal 6:22: "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

1 Peter 3:1-6:
"Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening."

John 3:29: "The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete."

I also appreciated the reminder to enjoy the time of our engagement. It's so easy to just focus on the details of the wedding and miss out on the joy that God intends for us to have during this time. And, most of all "Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift"(2 Cor 9:15).
